CM performs Ganesh Pooja with ostracised couple at his residence

Collector and SP to conduct enquiry into the social boycott


Mumbai, September 8

Hewalekar Couple was invited by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at
his residence Varsha today to perform Ganesh Pooja. This couple from
Mahadev Wadi, Taluka Kudal of Sindhudurg District had come to
Mantralay following a social boycott by local residents. Responding
quickly to the grivances of Hewalekar family CM had ordered an enquiry
by district collector and Superintendent of Police.
Hewalekar family who is facing a social boycott was left with no other
option to leave their native place during the ongoing Ganesh Festival.
They arrived at Mantralay this Wednesday (September 7) carrying Ganesh
idol with them. CM Devendra Fadanvis responded the family and
instructed for the immediate accomodation the couple within hours. And
today CM specially invited the couple to his residence ‘Varsha’ and
performed Ganesh pooja with them. In addition to this CM has ordered
District Collector and Superintendent of Police to conduct an enquiry
into this issue of Social boycott.
Hewalekar couple has expressed their gratitude for the prompt response
and honor by the Chief minister himself.
