NAAC Peer Team Visits M.B.Patel College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Deori, Gondia

DEORI, MAR 28: The NAAC peer team comprised of Chairman Prof. M. M. Goel (Vice Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur) Member Coordinator Dr. Nirmala Babu Rao (Head Department of Botany, Osmania University, Hyderabad) Member Dr. Hasmukh R. Padia (Principal, Shri A. K. Doshi Mahilla College, Jamnagar) has visited Manoharbhai Patel College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Deori, dist- Gondia on 27th and 28th March, 2019.
The peer team visit schedule started with the PowerPoint presentation by college Principal Dr. Arun Zingare in the principal’s chamber before the NAAC peer team at 9.45 A.M.
After the Principal’s Presentation the Peer team visited the IQAC of the college. They had a long interaction with the IQAC members regarding institutional mechanism of equality assurance promotion and sustenance.
Dr. A. G. Pakhmode, Coordinator IQAC presented necessary records and reports of initiatives taken by IQAC to the peer team during the last five years with respect to quality assurance. The commendable members of peer team issued some valuable instructions to the IQAC members regarding up keeping of records, processes and procedures to be followed for quality assurance, promotion and sustenance in the college.
After the IQAC visit, the peer team visited the Geography department, Girls common room and NSS department. Then peer team interacted with the teaching faculty in the common staff room. They checked the records of individual departments including departmental profiles and gave useful instructions and guidelines for the academic and administrative functioning of departments.
In the next Part of Program, heads of various departments of the college like Geography, Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, Commerce, Marathi, Political Science, History and English presented their departmental work and achievements in the form of PowerPoint presentation before the peer team. The peer team also visited the science departments for assessing the status of infrastructure and learning resources. They had an interaction with the students and teachers in the labs and classrooms.
They shared valuable information with the students and expressed satisfaction over the feedback and response received from them. Peer team also met college alumni and parents of the students. In the exhaustive meeting, some of the ex- students shared their views about the college with the team and gave their remarks
The visit schedule of the day concluded with a grand cultural programme organised by college cultural committee in the conference hall of the college at 6 p.m. Solo dances and group dances of college students, based on the tribal culture mesmerised the entire audience and impressed the peer team members.
The 2nd day visit schedule of peer team was on 28th March 2019 started with the review of physical facilities, safety and security and counselling services provided by the college to students. It was followed by checking of documentary evidence, discussion and report writing.
The second day visiting schedule concluded with an Exit Meeting of NAAC peer team with faculty, students and other stakeholders of the college in the conference hall followed by a formal vote of thanks proposed by IQAC Coordinator Dr. Abhinandan Pakhmode.
